What age is It when bearded dragon starts to eat more veg? I put veg in my tank all the time n he has small bits but just curious of when hell eat more veg. As he's gone way off his crickets.

The only info I can find on this is that they start eating more veg & less crickets when they are adults. What age is a Beardie adult?
Mine's quite good, he's around 6 months old & eating a reasonable amount of veg & still eats around 30 1-1.5 cm crickets a day. He's growing quick!!
An adult Beardie should be on more veg & have crickets every other day.

Well mine is 9 months old as far as the shop told me. Ands he gone off crickets as after 4 days there's still a load in his tank. I put fresh veg in there every day. With Calci powder. But from what it looks he doesn't seem to touch much of that either. The only thing he jumps for is locust. But you don't get many to a pound.
So I'm in a difficulty with what to do. Any suggestions lol |

| I put a drop of calci powder in a tin & then drop the crickets in & give it a shake to get them coated. I then sometimes just tilt the tin in front of him until the crickets are just about to fall out & let him eat them. Once he stops I tip the rest into the viv & he then picks them off when he wants one. Best not to leave any live ones in with your beardi overnight as they attack & bite them while they sleep. |

Yeah I've tried everything with the crickets but no luck n yeah I no. I thought if I'd try them for couple days he may eat one by one.
Any chance he's scared of them is there? |

| Try roaches, they don't bite, are a little bit slower than crickets and easier to dust. |

Yeah locusts are meant to be good and are easy to breed I'll be starting a colony too, live food my beardie goes nuts for locusts too but will eat crickets too I've also fed it calci worms and loves those i barely get them out of the tub and it snatches them from the tweezers lol
I feed mine out of the viv so none can hide under the rocks and come out and nibble on him when sleeping if im going to be out all day i just put the crickets in the fridge for 10mins to slow them down then nip the jumping legs with the tweezers so they can't jump and put them in a steep sided glass bowl in the viv as they can't climb the sides and he quite happily eats out of that, this won't work with locusts though as they can climb.
As for age they mature into adults at 18 month i did read a care sheet that had the info you needed but can i hell find it again lol i think its something like 80% live food 20% veg as babies then gradually moving to 20% live and 80% veg as adults |

i use spring greens as a staple and butternut squash and mix it with kale carrot peppers and bok choi rotating them to make it different he doesn't eat much but he does eat it and what he doesn't eat at the end of the day goes in with the crickets and locusts for them to eat to gut load them
