Hiya,
I've had my Wallace for a few weeks now - he is striking and feeding nicely, and seems to enjoy his viv. When I get him out for handling he seems very calm and relaxed - although of course this is my first snake so I don't really know what I'm talking about!
I've read that a royal shouldn't be handled more than 15 minutes a week, which is enough to ensure that he is physically healthy and that, but obviously I think he is the most perfect gorgeous animal, and I want him to be used to handling and as tame and friendly as possible.
So I was wondering what you would all advise in terms of how much daily or weekly handling is appropriate for a new snake once he is feeding well and settled etc.? |

Best advice. Don't listen to them. I handle mine every day for hour maybe longer depending on time I got etc. there is no limit to handling them :-) so knock ya self out lol just beware of if the room is cold etc they may try to snuggle for warmth. |

I handle all my snakes daily unless they're on 48 post-feed hands off. I've got some that don't like being handled while blue but that's normal so I leave them until they've shed. Normally none of them complain and all seem to enjoy time out of their vivs. It's also good exercise for them. |

I have left Oscar 3 weeks longest, usually handle 3 or 4 times a week. Sometimes for 5 mins sometimes 40. You do what you feel right |
