Are there any ATB or similar care requirement rep keepers out there as I need help planning a suitable setup.
Might go for a ATB hatchling this year, RUB set up to start but will need help planning his/her adult enclosure also.
Being semi arboreal what sized adult enclosure would I need? I was thinking a herptek or similar branded style plastic viv in order to keep up with humidity.
Heating? Reptile rad or ceramic with stats?
Cheers guys |

Im planning and researching ETB's a lot at the moment as their environment has to be spot on. It's high humidity and masses of ventilation (you dont keep the humidity in, you keep the flowing air humid) and think of it like a viv on its side, hot at the top, ambient at the bottom, places to climb, places to hide both up in the branches/climbing bit and some on the ground too. I've never really looked into what viv to buy as I'm planning building my own and ETB's are larger than ATB's. I would think a 3 foot wide by 3 foot high by 2 deep would be adequate as my ETB plan is a 4x3x2. You could get away with smaller but arboreal a are show animals, show them off. |

You shouldn't find ATB's to taxing,Their at the easier side of the scale.I'd work out which type of enclosure you want, then go from there.
I like ETB's to Lotabob.Alot of people keep them in smaller vivs, exo terras, pro cage types, acrylic and there fine. But i've never found/Liked the look of a 2 foot high acrylic viv with two branches and a water bowl. |

Why dont you just buy a staple gun and repeatedly staple your hand. Im sure thats similar to owning an ATB lol Joking aside, I absolutely love ATB's. Looking forward to some pics when you get one... including any injuries obtained lol. |

Probably just a nice desk, room temperature. A pot of pens to hide behind, and some paper to eat.

Cheers guys, just at the planning stage right now, trying to do as much research as possible at the moment. One day I would also love an etb or gtp
I was thinking of changing my rep room so it has a controlled ambient temp, and maybe a misting system for the gargs and atb. The wife now also wants a Leechie (crazy gecko lady )so I will need to fit that in there some where also lol
If and when I get one I will put up loads of pics.
And of course the impending bite marks |

Yeah work out what viv you want first. As heating a glass type viv with a rad will be harder work.Where you might have to replace the mesh on top,or have it screwed to the mesh somehow etc.Or a dome placed on top etc etc etc.
Or a plastic/acrylic viv,where a rad can be mounted to the roof easy.So yeah,pick a viv type.Then go from there :)
Same as the mister,Buy a cheap one that can only mist one/two cages.Or spend alittle more and have one that can mist 10 cages :) |

amazon trees are much easier to keep than emerald tree boas. they don't have to be kept as humid. they also don't wrap around branches like emerald tree boas or green tree pythons. although they will sit on a cluster of branches (if that makes sense). and a lot of them spend a lot more time on the floor than you would think. my atb spends almost all its time under hides on the floor. |
