Does anyone use LED strips in their vivs? Is lighting it up the only purpose they serve?

I thought the idea of LEDs was that they produce very little heat?

So you would definitely still need a heat source? I just like the idea of switching em on of a evening for a bit cause they look nice :D

I use LED's in my vivs. have them all on timers to give my snakes 12 hours of "sunlight". They produce absolutely no heat and should not be used as a heat source.
The 2 brands I use are lucky reptile and white python. The white python ones are nicer but cost a bit more. They are both great systems though, had the lucky reptiles ones in for a few years and never had a single bulb go.

I use Dioder ones from IKEA. They are fantastic. They are coloured too but mainly are set to white. I think I paid 20 quid for 4 vivariums worth.

They do the job very well.

I've got some White Python ones in my Carpets viv. White and Red. They're pretty damn bright. Nice n easy to install, you get sticky backed magnetic strips, makes for tidy fitment.
