My new jampea retic is eating fine, not shed or pooed yet. just wanted people opinions on if he looks impacted or it is a normal shape for a retic, research i have done hasnt really brought up many pics of the back end. i know they do have a slender tail but this is quite a dramatic sudden shange in size
ive gave him a bath and massaged gently

you dont think he looks impacted then? i dont feed in viv/rub (since switching the aubiose as the stuff sticks to the rat even when its dry!) so i know it wouldnt have come from me but only having him a week i dont know how they fed |

doesn't look it to me just look's like it's ready to poo. give it a few day's an i reckon he will have left you a nice present.
that's one reason i stopped using auboise as i find it's too absorbent |

yea it's great value for money but the main thing i didn't like was i would see it stuck to my snake's mouth's from where they had just been moving around.
for my big snake's i now use a mix of orchid bark and cypress mulch work's very well and look's good |

When i pick up my male retic he tends to fart in dis-pleasure. he gets a little bulge on and his vent gapes a little (almost prolapse). It settles down after a few seconds, but sometimes Im lucky enough to get showered in p***!! those handling sessions dont tend to last long. Straight back in your home while I wash myself

He had another bath and massage tonight. Still no present. How often does urs poo Johnny? Mhile massaging I felt a little lump (Ooo err!!) Just above the vent. Could this be urates or substrate or normal? I checked my other snakes and only my royal has the same lump but he hasn't left me a present for a few weeks.
Just a bit worried he might be blocked up as I've only just got him! |

Bulge gone! He passed a HUGE urate. No poo yet though. Hopefully that's cleared any blockage |
