Hi, I'm Geth, I've been wanting to get a royal python for years now but have finally got my space so I'm hoping to get one within the next few weeks. I've done quite a bit of research and from what I've read its best to keep young snakes in 12l RUBs. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what size heat mat I would need for this set up and what kind of stat I'd need? Also where's the best place to get these products from?
If you are planning on keeping your snake in RUB's all its life id just get a heat mat that will work the same on a 12l RUB as it would on a 50l RUB so a larger 1 as for thermostat when mines were on heat mats they were run on the habistat matstat but i found there pulse proportional stats kept it at a more regular temp :) but mat stats do there job and i never had a problem and either habistat or microclimate its entirely up to you which 1 you choose :)
Hi im getting my first royal either today or tomorrow and you can get the rub from staples I got mine from amazon same for my thermostat and heat mat most pet shops will sell them though
