from what i gather. females commonly have a slightly shorter tail from vent to tip. Males are also suppose to have a bit of a lump just behind the vent that females don't????

I`ve just read the book "The Complete Ball Python" by Kevin McCurley and it says, Males usually possess more pronounced cloacal spurs located on either side of the vent. A male may also have a longer tail. As each of these conditions can be quite viable, they dont provide a hard and fast rule for consistantly and properly sexing ball pythons.
