well, here I am sat in my bed listening to my kids snoring in the next room, and was wondering who's up this time of night, why you're up this time of night and what you're up to.

I'm up because it's too bloody hot to sleep. Currently posting on here and watching Kerrang.

I know how that feels, we've got two big fans in the bedroom and it's still too hot, did you get caught in the rain up this way earlier chris? Managed to clear the air a bit.

Sort of. We were on the way back from Donny and it bucketed down on the way through Abbeytown, then we drove out of it and it was dry all the way to Silloth. If it rained now I'd probably go out and stand in it.

Which bit of Cumbria are you in? Must be reasonably local if you have a view of the Solway?

Not too far then. I think we have the best end of the view, we get the Galloway hills, the Scots get the docks and the flour mill!

Too true, the wife and I used to go to silloth, get some chips from the chippy on the corner and then park up next to the life boat station.
You get some lovely views over the Solway on a clear night.

Ah, 'tis a good chippy! Before I moved up I was standing in the shallows fishing one night at about 10ish, watching the sun set behind the hills and thinking that I could get used to it up here.

Nah, it's a much more tasteful cream colour now. In fact, it's not been pink since I moved up about 18 months ago.
