I was worried that with his move my royal wouldn't eat as I;ve never fed a snake before.

I got him friday and tried him with a large mouse today, it was slightly bigger than the mice the previous owner gave him, at first i thought I;d made a mistake thinking no way thats going down his mouth but I dangled it in front of his hole and he darted out and wrapped himself around it before devouring it!

happy days. I;m going to try rats as I believe they are better for the snake?

You can get rats in all sizes, Feather is on rat fluffs and they're only about 3cm long. As a general guide the rat should be about the same girth as the thickest part of the snake, or just get some the same size as the mice.

Oh, and congrats on the feed!

Ifeed rats from day one, starting with pups and ending up with mediums for big adults.

My 09 was started off on mice and is on medium (!) mice at the moment but now i've had him a few weeks and he is eating like a savage im going to move him into rats (size oppropriate obviously, lol)
He fed last night and changing his water bowl this evening he looked like he would easily take another feed ... easily, lol

Ant.
