Good luck, let us know how it goes. Might still be a bit light out, so you may want to close the curtains for a bit before you offer. |

8 days isn't much, a lot of people would advise leaving alone for 2 weeks before trying anything, so don't worry yet. Leave the pup in overnight and if its still there tomorrow weigh him. Then leave him alone completely for 5 days. |

so he is four weeks old?
the first thing that me and probably others will say is to now leave him alone totally only one water change during the five days till his next feed.,
i personally would add more cover in your viv, so it looks really crowded..
also if you have an empty toilet roll tube. place the warmed up rat pup just inside it, cover his viv up and leave him till the morning, dont go into him or do anything else until the morning..no peeking no matter how much you are tempted.
If he does not take it dont worry...just remove the rat pup and quickly pop him on some scales and get his weight, then cover his viv with a towel or something.. and leave him alone, this should be done also if he does feed. I mean covering him up, not weighing him.
You should not be looking to handle him till he has taken 3-5 successive feeds with you.

Richard V have you got a digital thermometer as well?
they are way more acurate than the stick on ones..
you can get them cheap enough on ebay...
also you need to get that tape out of the viv...and use something else to hold those wires in place,
tape is dangerous for snakes..make sure there is no sticky residue left behind as well
viv looks great now by the way |

you could add a bit of cork bark (sterilised) or something as well...and even another teeny hide... |
