They say all do but for some its only noticeable when they hold their head up or are in feeding mode?
And if they dont all do it, chances are if you breed a clutch of spiders some will.
Dont get me wrong, there are some morphs I would love to own, but if you had a dog that couldnt control itself or support itself, you would put it down. |

| I realise that in the wild an albino snake would struggle as it wouldn't be camouflaged effectively, but as albinism has no adverse health effects and camouflage isn't required in captivity I see no reason why not to breed them. I agree with you about spiders though. |

| I assume they'd only have a problem with UV light because of the lack of melanin to protect the skin, although I don't know if it's the same with reptiles. Certainly my vivs aren't in direct sunlight, so I can't see that being a problem. |

The thing with spiders is that they ALL have come from 1 wild caught snake. So if that one snake had a inheritary genetic defect/illness it has been passed on to every other spider that has been hatched. Until another is found in the wild we cannot know... |

Nice to see I started an ethical debate. Darwin would be proud.
selective breeding is not the same as natural selection. I don't see any harm in breeding morphs etc from those that naturally occur in the wild but my question is.... what health implications are there when morphs or albinos, that wouldn't usually survive in the wild, cross breed to create the bizzare morphs you can find? surely they wouldn't naturally breed in the wild?? |

Yeah, inbreeding must be an issue, seeing as how you need two, of something that occurs so rarely in the wild, to breed.
I love the look of some royal morphs but I don't want to encourage inbreeding, health issues etc. Are any of the morphs, that are commonly available, more ...erm... naturally occuring, so to speak? |

| AS well inbreeding, doesnt albino x albino create albino's with defects such as no eyes and short bottom jaws, yet some people still do it. |

| That's Albino Boas, which is why people tend to breed het Albnio to het Albino or to Albino to stop that happening. |
