Hi

I have always used 100w spot bulbs in an angled holder to heat my vivs, so I have bulb cages that are also angled.
Now I have got a komodo ceramic bulb holder, but there is no way of fixing it to the side of the viv, how are your held in place? If I have got to have it pointing straight down then so be it, & I will buy another cage, but even shining straight down how do you fix it?

Thanks for any help recieved, & sorry if this is a stupid question.

Well the bulb gaurd is only part of the problem, but thanks I will give him a shout when I got the holder fixed.

How do you screw the bulb holder into the viv, this one has no holes or anything for screws to go through.

If you could post a pic of yours that might help if you dont mind?

this is how i did it, but i am a woman remember..lol..

i marked the holes with a pencil on the wood, then used a drill to make more holes so that the screw would bite, but i did it into the ceiling of the viv and was a pain in the butt...but i got there..

but maybe Daz or someone will give better advice than i can..

Yeah thats how I did it with my normal bulb holders, but this ceramic one has no holes to pass screws through, its just a bulb holder dangling on the end of the heat resistant cable.

I just used a cable tidy thing, the type with a nail in it if you know what I mean. I can vouch for Dave's guards, they're excellent. you're probably best pm'ing him on the dark side.

I can supply a ceramic holder which you screw to the viv for £3.85 delivered.
If you need it at a 45 degree angle for the guard you can fasten a wedge to the viv ant the 45 degree and fasten the holder to that.
