goodd morning guys
well rocky has his first shed with me sometime last night but im a little worried as it was in 3 bits and there is a tiny bit still on the end of his tail.
i was just wandering if you guys could give me some advice on how to remove the skin ( do i take him to vets )and also was it in bits cause it wasnt humid enough for him

Just give him a gentle wash and they should come off no bother.

| No need for the vets mate...I use a damp towel and gentley roll the last bit off if needed. |

bath should be about as deep as your snake and the same temp as the hot end of the viv, so around 30*C definitely worth checking with a thermometer as too cold can be as bad as too hot |

and yes, next time you can increase the humidity to try and help with the shedding process.
when his eye's have gone blue then cleared add a damp hide (may require swapping his usual hide with the damp one to encourage him to use it) and he should shed fully all by himself.
after he's shed put back the original hide and remove the damp one as increase humidity for any real length of time can cause other health problems such as RIs |

I just act as something that holds the skin, and let the snake pull the last bit off ;) (ie I don't pull, they do)
Failing that a quick bath won't hurt |

well i managed to get the little bit of his tail with no drama.
but there is a little bit on the top of his head any ideas as i dont wanna hurt the little fella, i have rubbed it with a damp cloth but it is a bit stubborn

You can buy some spray called Repti Shedding Aid - spray it on them leave for a few minutes and it will come off. It does not hurt their eyes so safe to spray on the head.
Found it really good, but the moist towel method is just as effective and not so expensive. |

a tail tip? over time the tail tip could go necrotic and drop off...
top of his head? less of a problem but not particularly comfy for the snake and best dealt with |
