Hi guys, got some rats today but they turned out too small. Sposed to be weaners but they're more like mice. Would it be possible to try feeding two at a time or not? If not could I shorten the interval between feeding?

Two at a time is ok if snakey will take them.

snakes react differently from each other, snake owners think differently from each other.
some may say yes its fine to feed multiple, others no.
I feed my baby royal two mice yesterday because they are too small for her, and she had no problems.
i say yes you can feed multiple. but dont recommend refreezing if yours dont eat the second one.

i have had occassions where ihave had to feed mine more than one, sometimes they are fine others not.

I have found the best way is to offer as soon as they are tongue flicking after the first rat....to soon and mine legged it to late and they were not interested..

Yeah I had to feed sal multiples for a couple of feeds (rat pups) as i was waiting on rat fluffs. As wolfspirit said, wait till you see the tongue flicking again after the first one and then offer the second.

feeding too big a prey item can sometimes put them off feeding so i feed multiple items in preference

have you got a set of scales that you can weigh the rats on first. small weaners in size are not much bigger than mice, but can weigh a could bit more. do you know what weight your snake is? i'm not saying no to multible feeding I am just suggesting you double check as instead of feeding your eg 250g snake a 25g meal you could end up feeding it a 40-60g meal.

Cheers for the advice everyone. He took two no probs. Knew he was hungry as he did three stupidly oversized turds on thurs and had been waiting at the hide entrance ever since waiting for dinner. Each one was approx 25g reckon snakey's about 600g, but got one of them rubbish dial scales, will get a digi.
