Roy was wandering around his RUB yesterday, looking like he was on a mission. I know I should've waited a few more days, but I thought it can't hurt to try him now, he will either eat or he won't. So I got a med mouse out the freezer for him (I'm sure he could smell it defrosting in the kitchen.lol.) and popped it in his RUB before I went to bed, and hey presto, no more MR mouse this morning Roy was lounging ontop of his hide, looking very pleased with himself, and very fat! |

Thanks Wolfspirit, I feel very proud of him. I weighed him on Monday and he was 118gm, the guy at the pet shop said to feed him once a week, but I was wondering if I should feed him every 5 days till he gets around the 300gm mark, or will that be too often for him? |

i feed every five days till they are 400g then go to seven days...
it would be better for him to try and get him on rats or weaners before he gets hooked on mice.. |

Ok thanks for the advice. I was going to try him on gerbils when he's fed a few times for me, but they are hard to find, would rats be better for him than gerbils? |

gerbils are ok, but they are expensive and as you say hard to find...and as your royal gets older you will need to feed more than one a feed...
rats are better they are easier to get hold of.. |

congrats, and yes, rats are easier as they come in better sizes, and are more nutritious. |
