im not sure, but i know a lot of countries have strict animal import/export policies, incase a foreign species destroys the ecosystem of one of their native animals.

You need CITES to bring them into the UK from the USA, so its probably the same the other way.

i would have thought the same same as BE on the CITES. i know that there are vets bills that need to be paid at each end as well.

but hang on CITES stands for 'Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species'......... it concerns endangered species being exported (wild caught) from their natural habitat
not sure how this applies to royals........... they're not an endangered species..........

i found this out:

Reptiles (snakes and lizards): CDC (control disease centre) does not regulate snakes or lizards, but does limit imports of small turtles. Those with a carapace (shell) length of less than 4 inches may not be imported for any commercial purpose. An individual may import as many as six of these turtles for noncommercial purposes. This rule was implemented in 1975 after it was discovered that small turtles frequently transmitted salmonella to humans, particularly young children

it says you will need a license and to pay a fee to import/export wildlife (all kinds)

source from: http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dq/animal/dogs.htm

Royal pythons are not endangered but they are under appendix II of CITES to regulate trade

hope this helps
