hello all. i went to the pet shop i get all my food and my snake from ect. and she told me they had a albino royal down at there other shop,so i went down to see it and i was thinking about buying it, but i would try n get a female one so i could breed it with the male one i have. my male now is about 130g. but the albino ones are a similar size (both o9 royals) the only prob i have is i have a 4ft viv split in half to 2ft for my male one and if i got the albino i would put it in the other half until the albino female got to weight, the only concern i would have is they will oyut grow the viv whilst the tank is split and then that would mean they would both be together. but i wouldnt want that due to impaction on the female. would i be beter getting a seperate viv for the albino and only putting them in together when they where ready to breed?

another question is the current one i have now is a normal royal, so if i got an albino royal and bred it i would only get het albino royals if they did breed? that correct? and then could i breed the hatchlings together? or would i have to breed them with a seperate royal, due to insest? the lady in the petshop said breeders interbreed them for 8 generations and then stop because thats when breeders say they start having problems?

and advice will be gratefull, as i have only researchd and asked people questions about doing this. the 09 albino royal is going for £550 is that about right?

Ideally you want to have your Royals in their own vivs. Then just putting them together for a few days at a time when breeding.
As for your breeding questions, yes you`d get het albino`s, then if you breed 2 of them together you have a 25% chance of an Albino.
£550 is about right.

Yes you'd get het's, but instead of breeding the sibling hets back together, which as above only gives a 25% chance of an Albino and takes 3 years for the female to get up to weight, breed a male hatchling back to its mother. It only takes 6 months to a year for a male to be ready and you get a 50% chance of an Albino per egg.

Thanks,The weight for the female is 1800g? so i would have have seperate vivs for the male asnd female. and when the eggs gatch they live in little rubs in a viv with the correct temp? ill have to wit a litle bit if i did get it for the female to be ready. and another question. in winter do you still need to drop the temp if u are not breeding them? and what would the temp drop to an when would it drop?

You don't even necessarily need to drop the temp if you are breeding them, it just increases the chances.

they form a snakeball when they mate. And never disturb them at that time or they'll bite.
