Hey, I've just got a few questions on introducing leopard geckos to one another, since I'm planning on getting another female to be housed with my female.
I've done loads of reading about this, but this site (or sites) have the most reliable advice generally when it comes to snakes, and I'm hoping the same applies for leos.
How long should I quarantine for? Also, I'm planning on, when I get round to it, introducing the leos after my resident female's viv has had it's monthly cleaning done and everythings been rearranged. I'm also going to introduce them first on my bed, so I can separate them if things get messy.
I've heard alot of horror stories of people introducing their two female leos only to have them savage each other moments later, but I'm also aware that people tend to only post up their worst experiences.
My leo has been in the viv she's in now since about March 09.

I'm hoping this isn't just a niave newbie's vain hope of saving space/money by housing them together. Can I please get some advice on this? If others have been in similar situations, how you handled it and stuff.
Thanks in advance!

Quarantine should still be 3-6 months IMO as for introducing, Give them a big feed (separately lol) then intruduce them on your bed. I doubt any ill will come of it. As long as the enclosure you keep them in has enough hides etc in and is big enough I don't see why they should fight.
Be prepared to keep a close eye on them for a few days, and have the capability to provide a second, separate, permanent enclosure IF they don't get on.

3-6 months? Damn, I was told 30 days. I'm getting it from a breeder rather than a shop and stuff.
I've got a faunarium and a heatmat, as well as hides, bowls etc. Going to get a stat before I get the gecko, so no worries there. I'd just rather have them together, since..well, I dunno, I just like the idea I guess. Plus, it's better from a financial point of view. The breeder though is offering a female blizzard leo for £15, I had to jump at that offer ^^.

3-6 months is just the quarantine period that i use for ANY reptile, especially one from a shop. If you are getting one from a breeder I possibly wouldn't be as concerned, depending on how well i knew the person and whether I had personally looked around their stuff.... I am probably being over cautious as usual LOL

I'll be looking around their stuff I'm guessing, since I'm going to the breeders' to collect the leo, so I guess after looking at that, I'll figure what the best time for quarantine is.
Thanks for the help though MissCat, I'll keep this updated =).
