Just a bit of curisoty ...
As soon as some one opens the door in my house the temp drops very quickly in the viv.
Humidity also drops quickly down to 32 odd in a day.
Got two bottom vents and three tops in a four footer.
Yes i know its a large viv but is cluttered.
Snake is fine eating well.

3ft viv - came with 2 vents (one in left bottom hand corner and one in top right hand corner)
had trouble with humidity, was too high so drilled 36 holes (in a square shape) on each sidee at the top of the viv and now humidity runs perfectly

If temps drop that easy then perhaps you could do with revising what heating you are using?

Plenty of Retics and Burms

I reckon the problem of heat dropping is down to the viv being low down.
The temps are fine.As long as the doors closed.
If you open the viv doors up it goes back up to temps in about ten mins.readings all taken on the substrate.
Its about a foot above the floor and we a have a cellar no carpet..
Well ive just put a big ashtray under the ceramic with water in it.
See if that will raise it
Got 250w cermaic in there now.
About two thirds along.
The viv is just over 2ft tall as well as two foot wide!

Got spare bulbs, heatmats, ceramics and pulse stats so could easily use these.

Ok...can you stick a picture up of your set up and a brief description of what your using and temps you have.

It seems like your not having much luck and a picture paints a 1000 words as they say...
