It doesn't bother me that he doesn't eat in winter, I know he is gonna do it. Still, I offer something once every week or two. Last night he nicked Alice's medium mouse, his first meal since early November only a mild snack for a 1kg Royal, but heh. Best bit he is in the middle of shedding (thus the dimpled eye)

and yawn when done:

Great pic's mate...

Shame the yawn was facing away as that would have been an amazing shot.

well, thought I would update this thread as it hasn't been done in over a year, lol.
He still fasts every winter, but this year started eating in mid Feb, two months early for him.
Still my favourite snake of all time, and just got him a girlfriend too.

in all the snakes I have had non can compare to his strike, it can only be described as viscious

have to admit he looks so happy when he has a decent sized meal

that pic makes him look chubby, but it's his skin still loose after eating a nice medium rat

In all honesty I scarecely handle any of my snakes, other than cleaning time.

During the winter months you only see him from Jan/Feb onwards, hunting for a mate. October-December he is normally a non moving log in his hide.
