I have read loads of threads about snakes not eating. I have the opposite, he'll eat anytime.
Fed him 2 large mice last Wednesday and thought he was looking hungry. He tends to sit with his head just out of his hide about an inch off the bottom when looking for food. Tried him with his first small rat today. Before he took it, in fact before I'd even opened the Viv, he struck out and hit the glass. I think he'd have bitten me if the glass was open. Anyway, took the Rat within about a second then spent 10 minutes figuring out how to scoff it.
Is it normal for them to be so aggressive when hungry ? Hasn't bit me when handling yet. |

Some are very food orientated, yes.
How big is he, I only feed hatchlings that often? |

He's a 2008, almost 3 ft long. He certainly seems happy enough to feed that often. I got him in Dec and his feeding record from the shop had him fed twice a week. I have tried to keep it weekly but he was really up for a meal today. |

Keep a log and see how often he takes food, as BE says some eat more voraciously than others and then go for a few days and start again, they are all different and you have to keep a log and look at their patterns of eating, if he is stil feeding then feed until he stops all my royals have done that as hatchlings then they start to slow down and tend to eat in a more regular pattern hence the log so you can look back and predict, it's good that he is eating so well, but don't worry if he stops for a while just go with his flow :) |

You will just end up with a fat, unhealthy snake if you carry on feeding at that rate.
I feed ~ every 5 days up to 400g ~ every 7 days up to 800g ~ every 10 days up to 1200g ~ every 14 days >1200g. |
