Hi Guys
i so neeeeeeeeed another snake!
but i dont know what?
i want a "big-ish" snake like a royal
but we dont have morphs in South Africa!!
very sad, we only have the normals here
and i am not very keen on a retic! they scare me!
i like corns and kings... but they are too thin and long
i am thinking of a Red Tail or a B Rainbow Boa...
but i am in 2 minds...

what a lovely place to be!

Boas (BCI/BCC) are very nice, but can reach 10', BRB's are beautiful and don't get near that size if you're not looking for something too big. How about a Blood Python?

Jungle Carpet Python... Get to a good size and are semi-arboreal so on display alot, not hidden in a hide.

those are all good ideas, and i love the pics in the photo section...
but in South Africa, we are ver limited for choice, here we rarely see
Rainbow boa's, and almost never any morps of python... boa's are ample though
i DONT want to give it away when its too big, so i need to make a good choice...
i am thinking BRB, but do all of them go dull when they grow old?

BRB's keep their colour a lot better than CRB's.

nope... the whole reptile comunity is very small in SA
people are not educated in herpatology here!
so no real choice... other choice is import, but i dont like that.
i can get a Redtail Boa for 35 pounds!!! R450 (Rand) converted to pounds its like 35!
thats a bargain in any currency, i know the breeder he has 35 hatchlings! :)

That's cheap for a BCI, it's a steal if it's a BCC!

N1ck, how big is too big? Would a 10 footer put you off? If you go for a male BCI he's *likely* to top out at about 6-7 feet, however this can vary according to the individual animal and the feeding regime.

0.1.0 Royal Python - Princess
0.1.0 BCI - Feather
