so would you say small is better, as i have 2 spare medium hides but would i be better getting 2 small hides and then eventually moving up to medium hides

small would be best as they would feel more secure. you could also always use home made hides as if they feed well a hatchling could grow out of a small hides in a few months..

i don't mind buying 2 more small hides, it was just i went to a rep shop today and they had some really nice baby 2010 royals in and the were so small and i thought that a medium hide would be to big for them, so thought i would ask. they were normals and priced at 65, if donny wasn't a week away i would have bought one
