This graph is based on averages weights of Royal Pythons at known ages. Please feel free to add any weights of your snakes to this thread along with the age in months at time of weighing.
The more results we get, the more accurate the graph will become.
Cheers.
edit: You should remember this graph is here for reference, each royal python grows at a different weight as it shows here and if your python is eating and happy you should not change your care or food size if he is bigger or smaller than the average. -Kelfezond |

Just a quick question, our Royal is approx 6 wks old (bought 2wks ago and told by the shop he was 4wks) We weighed him yesterday and he was weighing 1LB 1/8OZ which according to a conversions chart makes it equal to 453.592GRAMS. By the chart you have provided (which is brilliant might I add)at the heaviest marking it would make our baby Royal highly unlikely to be as young as we thought! Could you provide some help or information as to how we can age him properly so we know he is getting the right care.
Thank you. |

Seriously though, I think the shop may have fibbed a little, as with the 400g snake at 4 months in the graph above most likely.
I wouldn't worry too much, about the age as its care isn't dependant on age. I got a hefty 6 month old at about that weight so as an approximation its around there somewhere. The important bit though is from your picture its healthy looking, and not underweight or overweight. |

Judging by the pic of it curled up in your hand, your snake weighs a maximum of about 130 ish grams I would say. I would check the scales over. |

Matilasmum, there is no such thing as too little going by weight alone. The graph is only a representation of members weights by age out of interest rather than a stead fast guide for weight. At 12 weeks 72 grams sound perfectly healthy in my books. Is she eating OK?
I have just seen the pictures you posted, that is one healthy and normal looking normal lol.
PS not noticed you on here before so welcome to the forum. |

yes i am new here, thankyou, we have only had matilda for 1 week, she has had a feed here yesterday and was fine, ate straight away, i will just keep an eye on her growth, she seems perfectly healthy, i guess im just a bit paranoid as this is my first experience of keeping a snake, |

Hi I was just wondering, seeing as most people don't really know how old their snake is, maybe a graph comparing the Length x Weight might also be useful.
I say this because it would be useful to me anyway lol.. |

Am liking the graph, and when I'm sober enough will be studying it closely against slinkies stats.

As a novice keeper I find this reassuring. Just the reason I joined.
Curly, my female royal is 178g at 4 months so seems around average. |

Weighed Rebel today at 66g. He is eating well and seems very happy. He's around 45cm but I am unsure of age as the shop wasn't told by the breeder. I belive him to be aroubd 10 weeks old. |
