hi im new to this forum thing so dont want to step on anyones toes,
i had mites for the first time in 15yrs of keeping snakes. the only thing i could put it down to was a peice of bark i put in with my jungle carpet python, thought i cleand right but i couldn't have.
anyway after i looked on another reptile forum a lot of people were singing the prasies of callington mite spray so i got hold of some and treated cilla, my jcp. it worked a treat within minutes i could see all the dead mites on the floor of the viv. but they did get accross to sully my royal so treated him too.
it took a couple of treatments but touch wood they are gone
its easy to use just remove snake and water, spray the viv for a few seconds then leave for 20 mins b4 putting snake back but dont put water back until 24hrs later
heres a link for the spray

Not stepping on anyones toes. Great link and info. If any of the little buggers come this way I'll zap em with that. Do you know if it kills the eggs as well. Read the link but didn't say, or maybe I missed it. |

off the top of my head im not sure if it kills the eggs. the better half is a vet nurse and managed to find all the info through work as the info on the can is a bit short shall we say. and as per she moved info and i cant find it.
it does create a vapor which gets into the nooks of the viv and works the same way on the snake. after treating my jcp i haven't seen any on her just a few more dead ones on bottom of viv
i also sprayed the carpet around vivs with frontline just to be safe
found the info it doesn't say if it kills the eggs |
