Just a random question but does anybody know what happens to snakes that escape ..... Do they eventually , sadly , starve to death or do they eventually get found by the owner in a dark corner or something ... Just interested .
I suppose that the large snakes are eventually found but smaller ones maybe corn hatchlings presumably starve.
What are your experiences ??? |

My mam, as a teenager, lost her Corn snake after it managed to squeeeeze out through the gap in the glass panels of it's viv. She evetually found said naughty snake under the mat at the front door! She tells me that it looked like a canny draught excluder X ) It had been missing for a little while but she said it didn't look any worse for wear and didn't seem efected by it's travels.
That's the only 'experience' I have though. |

My friend lost her corn snake last year, her flat mate didnt shut the door properly on the viv. They searched for weeks but didnt find him so after about 2 months her mate bought her another corn. About a week after introducing the new corn to the original viv, low and behold, corn number 1 reappeared under the floor boards! so a new viv was rapidly bought.
This girl is not the lucky type with snakes as corn number 2 has now escaped, he has been missing for about 5 days so fingers crossed he will be ok. |

I lost one of my baby corns about 6 months ago :( she still hasnt turned up, and theres no clue of her wear abouts, my guess is shes gone into a small crack in the wall in my bedroom where the water pipes are cos its warm, she was a very calm snake that liked to just chill in her warm hide, i aint holdin much hope after someone said they found thier missing corn under their floor boards no longer alive rapped round a water pipe :( |
