Hiya
Noticed something on earl last night that I havn`t noticed before, it is 2 what look like nails on either side of his bum area, any ideas of what these are called and what they are used for, quite strange ive never noticed them before but there again would like to think I don`t look around that area much lol
Hopefully you can see them good enough in these pictures

Got a lovely royal python called earl, a brazilian rainbow boa called zeus, a red tail cross boa constrictor called dorris and an albino burmese python called angel as well :-)

| Spurs. They used to be legs (many, many generations of evolution ago). |

Yeah, they serve little purpose now, but apparently when they mate, the male will actually move his spurs back and forth to stroke the female and get her in the mood  |

Cheers, does this mean earl is a male or do the females have them as well ?
Found it strange that ive never noticed them before so maybe become more pronounced with breeding cycle/hormones or something ?
