Ah, well ... I always did think that the bigger viv should go at the bottom of the stack, but that obviously, when owning pythons and corns, it made sense to put the corn at the bottom and the python further up.

However, GMac posted on a similar thread and pointed out that to put the smaller viv on top of the larger could well cause bowing and jamming of the glass doors on the bigger viv.

I've noticed the cabinets designed to go beneath the viv-exotics vivs are narrower than the viv itself.

So I'd say, sounds like you're fine to put the smaller viv at the bottom!

Suppose, I just assumed the biggest would be at the bottom but there's probably not a great difference in weight, what's a few inches at the end of the day?

Unless you have something to spread the load evenly over the top of the larger viv at the bottom, you will have issues with the doors sticking on the bottom one.

It is better if the smaller viv is at the bottom as the load is evenly spread over the top of it, minimising the risk of jamming the doors.

Yeah, makes perfect sense to make sure that the bulk of the weight is taken by the edges of the viv underneath, rather than the middle which could sag eventually. I was aware of this principal in regard to roof gardening but it never occurred to me till recently to apply it to vivs (smacks own wrist.)

It was just the hight and depth I was unsure of with the lx range really. Do you think they're suitable then? Hope so!

the only thing i found with lx is the hieght, the height itself is fine, but when you put a bulb and bulb guard in, it takes half the height up, but everything else is fine for them

As above, it will be fine size wise for a Royal.
