Not been on a while too busy for me time lol

Orlina hasnt eaten for 10-12 weeks cant be too sure my notes went missing and had to start a new one. Shes lost 50g but that only works out 4-5g a week so its not that bad is it?

Shes started to come out again well her head and a couple o times this week in strike position so hopefully tomorrow she'll go for it. I only bought large mice instead of jumbo I dont want to give her too much for 1st feed.

If she doesnt take the first one I was thinking of braining the second to see if it makes a differece, has anyone had any joy with that?

Hi Nok! Glad you're back - saw your post on another thread - fun isn't it being in the non feeding club!

I had a tiny tiny mouse left over from corn feeding - that was Cy's, and she likes her mice snipped at the nape - she refused it and rather than waste it I offered it to Shahi who hadn't eaten for a month... he took it. I offered a small weaner rat to Saada, who hadn't eaten for 6 weeks (she should be on mediums) ...no. Buffy the corn (corns do come in handy! Usually!) would have eaten it but was blue ....rewarmed it and left it in with Saada, and she took!

So yes, maybe they do like to restart on smaller prey. Got to get Surahi the mouse junkie going now ...

Awkward little gits eh??

Good luck!

Hiya BATS.

Its a nightmare trying to get her even slightly interested, she tries to get past the mouse to my hand but not to strike. She's interested until he realises what it is.

Funny thing though, EVERY time I have chicken for tea shes out smelling her cage then into the strike position lol First few times I thought it was coincidence but its happened too any times plus I only eat it when I fancy it and dinner time is never at the same time day to day, I swear she loves the smell of it lol if it wasnt as greasy i would have put a chicken nugget in with her mouse for a while before i tried feeding her lol

Since monday she's had her head out the hide a good few times and the past couple of days she looks like shes lying in wait so fingers crossed

Oh aye, are gerbils and hamsters any good for them? I was thinking of trying them

Hi, it's funny you should say that about the chicken. When I went to buy Surahi they had another female for sale who, they said, was an absolute 'dustbin' - she'd eat anything. When they cooked chicken nuggets for tea she was like the Bisto kid.

Umm, I wonder, would it really do much harm to try scenting a mouse with a chicken nugget? (You could always blot the nugget with kitchen roll lol.) I'd try it.

I've heard they can eat hamsters and gerbils. I think it's just day old chicks that aren't acceptable because of very low nutritional value. Of course rats are best but if you've got a fussy feeder, then you've got a fussy feeder.

I know many royals are starting to eat again now, but there are a good few still fasting. My lot didn't fast until the new year, and Surahi, who's 06, is still fasting. It's good that Orlina's started to go into hunting mode - Saada did that a couple of days back, which made me hopeful.

I'd fry her up a couple of chicken nuggets if I were you lol!

i would a week to try her again if you tried her yesterday, that way she could be more hungry again and it gives her time to rest again
