I have had damien since middle of January I think he is roughly 6 month old and has been on one large mouse a week since the 19th November last year!! He seems very hungry but never looks for more after I was just curious as to what the next size up is?? I no I ought to weigh him etc but I will do that later on in week cause just fed and as I am typin he is eating!! Also the last recorded shed is 18th august she definately hasn't shed with me should I be concerned yet? Also haven't seen a poop yet??? Thank u

You'll probably have to switch over to rats to get something bigger than a big mouse. There is a rat guide somewhere on here though I have no idea where, someone may come along with a link if you ask nicely.

Hi, it's very confusing as one supplier's 'large mouse' is often called something else, like 'Jumbo', 'ex-breeder' or even 'medium' by another firm.

The largest mouse I've come across is 'ex-breeder' from a Suffolk firm called A&N. If you google them their website will give a heading: 'What we do', which provides a table of weights, and for rats as well.

It's a good idea to get Damien on to rats, if he'll make the change. By the time he weighs over a kilo it's going to be a lot more convenient to feed him one suitably sized rat instead of several mice. Blackecho recommends feeding 10/15% of a snake's bodyweight.

Hope this helps.

Yeah, they're a good firm, A&N. Sorry - I should have added - about the shedding/taking a dump, many royals only dump when they shed - and oh boy when they do, is it a humdinger!

One fine day Damien will surprise you!

Yep ex breeders are the largest mice so either multiple feed or
switch onto rats as suggested. They shed once they need more
room so all in good time. Your probably due for a pressie soon
