No, but have you looked at the DIY sticky on the breeding section? All you need is a polybox and a heatmat and stat, thermometer, hygrometer, and a bit of ingenuity.

Yeah, I admit it, I'm cheap!

It's no different to setting up a snake rub.

Hell of a lot less complicated than a gtp tank...?

No harm in trying, and if the home made works, you've got the cash to splash out on another snake lol

yeah was lookin at them too

after reading a few posts on the dark side about the ones i found i don't think i will bother with them, seems to be a prob with the humidity readings saying its at 100% but dry, something to do with the filters

I was talking to a breeder this morning and his words " you can make an incubator with almost anything, its a waste of money to buy one"

I know i`ll be making one from a polystyrene box next winter.

sonds like homemade is the way to go then

my only concern is that in the pics on the sticky about the homemade build is that there is no lid on the egg box. now if the eggs were to hatch while i was not around there wold be nothing to stop the hatchlings from climbing out and falling on the heat mat. could this prob be solved by putting a lid on the egg box and would it need air holes in the box?

Ha - see what you mean!

Well, I'd just put one on as soon as they started pipping - a really well ventilated lid wouldn't hurt?

Yes, I'd definitely want to keep the hatchies confined and safe.

Amendment - also the polyboxes I have are much deeper - must be 12" deep and would take a deeper container.

The eggs need to be in a sealed tub or else the moisture in the vermiculite will evaporate lowering the humidity.

so it wont do any harm to the eggs with there being no air holes in the egg tub then?
