on clovers last feed a couple of days ago she showed the strongest feed response. perviously she has just gently taken the rat but this time she struck and constricted. when she moved her head to the rats her head wobbled a little bit and while she was eating it it was a strong head wobble. has anyone seen or heard of this before in pastels or is it just a case of over excitement? |

I saw a post way back, from another member, describing something similar with a normal, but not quite so dramatic. When Shahi's fed, a couple of times I've seen a tremor as his head moved towards his grub. He's normal too - well, as normal as anyone can be in this house lol! |

it will just have been exitement, it will not have been the spider head wobble as this only affects the spider gene from studies that have been done |

Was feeding Peyote on Sunday, she struck perfectly but very strong and constricted the rat at a slight strange angle. When she started to release and swallow, she had quite a wobble going, the only reason I can think of is that her neck muscles was a bit tired and was trembling due to this, she never wobbled like that before. I think it's the same when you're do a work-out and your muscles is tired and trembling afterwards, especially your legs. I could be wrong, but this is the only reason I can think of, otherwise she's healthy, happy and the best periscoper there is! :o) |

Makes me wonder if the wobble is inherent in all royals (as kinked tails and squints were said to be in Siamese cats, for instance) but is for some genetic reason more apparent in the spider morph?

I have a male and a female pastel and have never seen this in either of them, I am guessing it was over excitement pastels are in my opinion avid feeders and usually more curious than most other morphs. |
