So my royal is 3-4 months old and weighs around 90-100grams. Ive been feeding him fuzzy mice every week but they seem on the small size, smaller than his thickest girth...so what should i feed him? and how often? |

Try to get him on rat pups. They are a little bigger and Rats have more goodness in em! I personally would feed him every 5 days.

Blackecho's feeding guide, which I reared my cf10 lad, Shahi on:
0-400g - feed every 5 days 400-800g - every 7 days 800-1200g - every 10 days 1200g+ - every 14 days
Feed 10/15% of the snake's weight.
Alternatively, re size of prey, you can feed a rodent no bigger than the snake's girth (the small neck does expand!)
As Sullysteve says, rats are preferable - when your snake's 1200+ and feeding twice a month, one rat per meal is a lot easier than several mice.
Hope this helps. |
