humidity in the viv is too high, its about 60-70 and my snake seems too want to get out the viv and hasn't eaten for about 2 months, which i'm guessing isn't helped by the humidity factor.

Unless the floor is wet and the moisture is dripping down the walls its unlikely to be too high. Though in a viv unless your spraying all the time the bulb will dry the whole thing out to room humidity in a day or 2, only reason it doesn't drop below room humidity is it draws in air from the room, if your room humidity is too high you'd know about it.

nothing wrong with those levels anyway, its alot higher in Africa. 50% is given as a guide as thats what our levels are and any lower and Royals may struggle to have a good shed.

Yes, as Mark says - so many hydrometers are famed for just not working properly.

I've heard so many horror stories about hydrometers that I refuse to buy one lol. What works for me is normal room humidity, plus the water bowl in the hot end once the snake has cleared from blue, in order to provide extra humidity.

One of my girls was extra restless after fasting - then started to eat again, big time, now has started refusing again, unpredictable, eh? Just keep trying with her - hope she starts eating soon.
