Kinky just had her first feed with me Tried her on Sunday night and after her looking petrified at the sight of me and the tongs I left the food for her on the heat matt but it was still there in the morning
Tried again last night, and still no strike feed, but left the mouse at the entrance to her hide and 3 hours later it was gone
What a relief - I must be doing something right after all!!! Ps Just out of curiosity, if i'm feeding every 5 days, when in the feeding, digesting, pooping cycle should I be weighing her? Or does it not matter so long as I'm consisitent?! |

I doubt there's a need to weigh her so often, but do weigh her as its a good way to check on her health. If she was to stop eating, as royals do, then you can see what the body weight loss is, and act appropriately. |

Congrats!!
The most accurate way to get a weight is to weigh her once she's taken a dump and is empty. I keep a record of feeding, shedding, weights etc and it's really useful to refer back to. (I realise that at the rate royals use the bathroom - about once every 6 weeks - you may not get the chance to weigh her too often, but, as Mark says, it's a good guide to health.)
All the best. |
