Hi guys im just wondering how long it should typically take to shed once hes started peeling (so to speak).
He has started but now hes resting, will he continue later? or will he need help?
It was quite funny, i dont normally hear him moving around his faun, but this morning i was woken by the the rustling of bark, and now it looks like a tip. Messy george! lol |

| They do it in one go, if he`s stopped i`d assume the skin is stuck so he`ll need a soak for 20-30 minutes in water (around 30degree mark) |

do you think handling him with a damp towel would be a better option than a bath?

I have put a second water bowl in his warm side, i think that will be fine for now (i hope). Il be better prepared next time

| I'd say a second water bowl at this stage is too little too late, a more direct approach would be required if its totally stuck though at the moment I'd give him 24 hours to see if he can get it off himself, he may have bene disturbed and decided to stop what he was doing. See what the morning brings. If its still on then think about a damp pillowcase. |

Yeah, as Bob says - put him in damp pillowcase, tie the top and put him in ventilated rub for 30 mins, keep an eye on him; as he squirms around, the skin will loosen and come away with the dampness and gentle friction of the material.
The most important bits are eyecaps and tailtip; what's in between isn't as crucial, but of course it's good if he can get all his tight kit off lol. |

| its coming off easily enough but he has a quick scratch then goes for a sleep then does a bit more then has another rest, il give him some time see how he gets on |

Check the shed skin, in particular the head section, the goggles will be clearly visible. If its in bits your looking for something that looks like a tiny contact lens. If it was retained you'd be able to see it, it wouldn't look clear and possibly be tatty round the edges thought e shed is the first place I'd check. Good look.
This isn't the best picture but you can see the goggles, as the shed is inside out they will face inward (concave). |
