I'm thinking it's safer to move the coasters close to the 4 corners of the heat mat. It doesn't have to touch the RUB (if they're too skinny to touch the floor of the RUB). The thing is, the floor will bow out, so even if the corners are propped, the part where the heat mat is will bow out to touch the shelf when it gets hot and the weight of the snake/decor sits on top of it. So, it would be good if the floor bows out to get extra support from the coasters right there in the middle around the heat mat. Make sense?
