Aww she is gorgeous and those are quality pics ...I keep trying to capture that funny grimace with Ziska but just haven't the skill. Love the rough feel of them too - totally different to silky royals and corns.
LOL - getting struck at is part of the fun.
Just to hijack the thread a little, I actually visited some people (I DON'T visit people normally) who said they couldn't get their snake out of the viv. Big showoff here asked to have a try ...well, he was totally shocked when I picked him up. Then he had a little nip (just for his self-respect, you understand) so I laughed and said he was like Ziska. So then he made a terrible smell and stuck his tail up my sleeve just as his vent began to bulge ...Terrified Lil put him back in his viv pdq!
I don't mind getting bitten but I draw the line at getting crapped on! |

Thanks Lil
Hahahaha!! Yeah, getting pooped on its not fun... 'specially when the snakes a quite big lol! Getting pooped on by a hatchling is nothing compared to adults; Harrisons poops are bigger than my dogs
Does Ziska musk too or is she just hissy? |

No, she never has musked ... well, not up to press ...(Looks over shoulder to make sure she's not reading my thoughts or reading my screen with her eagle eye lol.)
The corns are the worst, as you think they've been, but they always have a load in reserve, which they lovingly discharge on your lap or in your sleeve ... |

Yeah they do, don't they - though an inundation from a 4'+ corn is nothing to be sneezed at!
Nah, I don't think pits are malicious ...it's just the way they are. I love to see that grumpy little face at the viv window ...'armchair walkiesssshhhh Lil! ...Zzzzissshkkkaaa lovessshhhh ya, Lil!' (Ouch!) Lovebite Lil! |

AWWW - Ziska gives the full rattlesnake performance (gophers mimick rattlers in the wild) and then climbs inside my top and goes to sleep for ages ...just have to be alert for when she wakes, because then she leaves enough of her back end on my shoulder, and goes exploring with her front end ...then she zooms off and I have to move fast to catch up with her. Then she bites me. Only a velcro bite though. Bless! |
