What is a fair price for a super pastel cb11 male? With pastels down to £80 in some ads, surely supers must now be cheaper too. I'm thinking of buying one to go with my female bumble bee. But I don't want to pay too much. There are so many adult pastels around now, I'm thinking supers will become much more common. Opinions are appreciated. Cheers, Kev |

The one I'm interested in is £450. But he sold 2 females for the same price. Just want to make sure I'm not paying too much. I don't think a male should be sold did the same price as the females went for. Do you agree?

I don't but first come first served ;)
£450 for a female bargain in my eyes
You got to look at it like this It's there ready for the taking ones your looking for don't seem to pop up when you want one Well maybe just me lol
If your prepaired to pay £450 then it's a good deal 2 years down the line with the breeding to a bumblebee you will make it back in one hit ;)
Do it you know you want to ;)
Good luck with what you choose to do
P.s try and knock them down I always do it lol
Just say I've seem another one for say £400 And was going to get that but if your willing to take £420 I'll take your one Let me know as I will be going to get the £400 one tomorrow ;) |

Don't just look at finding the cheapest super pastel. Check what grade of pastels have made it. Apart from the genes some supers are no better than a good pastel. There are some crap ones out there. I've learnt it's Worth spending a little more and having a great example. There are some super dupers going around for about £800 well worth more than 2 crappy super's. |

Thanks for the advice mate. I'll make a offer, and see how it goes. I'm trying to build up a small collection, that I can breed in a couple of years. Super pastels do seem expensive when you consider you have a 25% chance from a pastel x pastel breeding. I'm new to this. If I'm wrong I apologise in advance. |

They're nice pastels.
I'm waiting for a pic of the superpastel. I'll pm it to you both. I think it's rude to post pics of someone elses snake on a forum. :) |

ye i would would go with quality not price. also as a side note, is this for a partner for your bumblebee, as if it is, youd better going with a pastel than a super as it does the same thing tbh, unless you have other breeding plans |

as above be more concerned about the quality and remember the old addage 'quality is rarely cheap, and cheap is rarely quality' |

I'm new to this but I thought with a superpatel, I'd have a higher chance of getting super pastels and killer bees. And also 0% chance of normals. Wouldn't a pastel have less chance of producing supers and killers? As well as producing normals?

You`ll have a 12.5% chance of a Killer with a pastel-bumblebee pairing, 25% chance with a super pastel. If your going to breed in a few years then you`d be better getting your male a year before breeding as they will be cheeper and they only need to be around the 600g mark. If you buy a male now he`ll be sat around for a couple of years with nothing to do. You could spend your money now and get another female

A firefly male has caught my eye now! I'm catching this morph bug bad. I'm thinking of trading my albino male against him. I'm planning on buying 5. I'm keeping my cb11 female bee, getting a cb11 male fire fly, a cb11 male super pastel, cb10 female Mohave and a cb10 female lesser. Does that sound like a good mix? After that I'm planning on buying a couple more females when funds allow.

As already said buy your females now and your makes a year mr two down the line. I would also change the super pastel to female and buy a different 2 gene male giving you more breeding potential. Buy in accordance to what you want to produce. What's your goal. |

For me it's more of a hobby than a business. Double gene females don't seem available as males. My bee is female. I was planning on buying a male super pastel or firefly male as they're are a few nice ones available. I'm not adverse to buying a female of breedable age when my males are ready. I'd love to breed some cool snakes. I take your point about the super pastel female. It would make more sense. Especially if I get the firefly male.
