Hey All,
I haven’t posted in a while, although I read the forums most days.
I recently convinced my better half to let me keep some Royals again, so after reading a multitude of classifieds looking for a bargain, I settled for a trio of females that came with a viv etc.
Not being a fan of co-habitation I decided I would build myself a rack, also so I could keep a few more than origianly agreed =)
Overall I’m quite pleased with the final outcome!
So having filled the rack I moved the ladies in.
Before building the rack I had a real nightmare with feeding, I had the 3 females for about 6 weeks or so. In that time I had limited success with feedings, usually being lucky if 1 of them would feed. After building the rack and moving them in I left them for about a week, so the following Friday night I defrosted 6 large mice hoping for the best. What happened next really surprised me, all 3 struck 2 each! Happy days!! I was very pleased to say the least.
There was another reason for building the rack however. I had found a male I wanted to add to my collection and I was picking him up the following weekend. Fingers crossed all going well I will be breeding this boy to the 3 females in the next year or so.
I think he deserves at the very least 2 pics =)
You'll have to excuse the poor quality Iphone pics they don’t do any of the Royals any justice, especially the male.
Thanks for reading my waffle.
Cheers

Thanks Chris,
Well originally I was going to use heat tape, but its going to take quite some time to fill the rack so I settled for the largest heat strips I could find, the 47" habistats,
I will eventually have 1 mat per Shelf, these are conntected to a Pulse proportional. the idea will be that once the rack is filled it will consist of 6 mats and 2 thermostats.
