Ok December seems to be testing me with problems, this includes personal issues as well as snake problems, anyhows the last few days i've noticed Crystal laying in her water bowel so I googled it today and it suggested mites so I then looked in their viv to find...... yes thats right Mites. I've looked Crystal over and spotted one under her chin, have also checked Merlin over and not found anything on him but still need to treat them both, i've looked into frontline but it says you shouldnt really use that on young snakes. Guess what I'll be researching tonight!!!!! |

Yes, I'm afraid so - good idea to treat every snake. From my reading I've gathered that you can catch them just about anywhere; at one stage they're airborne so theoretically if you're in a crowd containing a rep keeper whose snakes have mites, they're as infectious as the common cold ...sobering thought ...
Hope you get rid of the little ****ers soon! |
