Hi all, hope you have had a good Christmas break! Just wanted your input on a few things for Charlie.
He is coming up 7 months old, is 55cms long and 180 grams empty. Does this sound ok?
He is eating well so far and im feeding him a small mouse every 7 days. Im wondering if i should feed more often as he is very active in general but always out and about in his faun for a couple of days prior to feed. I fed him a day earlier yesterday as he was just going round and round and didnt settle.
Finally, im thinking of upgrading him to a 2 foot viv as he is an active guy. Can i use my current heat mat and stat, at least as a temporary measure? and then add a lamp etc later?
Cheers! |

their weight varies from snake to snake but sounds ok to me. my little one is 2 1/2ft an 9 minths as a guess an 280g this is the feeding guide most people go buy Blackecho's feeding guide - feed 10/15% of the snake's weight. 0-400g - feed every 5 days 400-800g feed every 7 days 800-1200g every 10 days 1200g+ every 14 days although it will be easier to get him switched onto rats sooner rather that later. as long as you pack the viv out with plenty of hides an plants etc will be fine. can use the heatmat as long as the snake does not completly cover the mat hope this helps |
