right im now sure that frank has a stuck eye cap, thought it was just looking different in the light but its now looks cloudyer and dry. have read the eye cape sticky on here an dont have any viscotears stuff. im going to give him a bath then try the damp pillow case trick an see how he gets on. any other advice/tips would be welcome |

Ah, good luck with him. Yes, the bath and pillowcase bath are a good way to start. I don't like the idea of mauling an eye about too much but you could see if he will push his head through a damp towel.
I once got an eyecap off Surahi by pure chance - I noticed a tiny flake, a wisp of scale, next to her eye; she let me take hold of it - and the next thing the eyecap had just popped off, to my surprise and horror. If I'd realised, I would have given her a pillowcase bath first.
I've bought some shed-ease stuff that you spray on and which is safe for eyecaps - but so far (sod's law and all that) I haven't had to use it (touch wood!) so can't tell you how good it is.
Good luck with him, fingers crossed - most times eyecaps are pretty ready to come off with a bit of encouragement. I've found the worst bits are the heat pits and nostrils; they take some persuading. |

Good luck - and, slightly off-topic, talking of shedding, I had Surahi out today to check her over for mites. She was clear, but her worst belly scar looks disturbingly brown and rusty and flaky - sure sign of a shed. But good news is, her other scars seem to have gone - I never thought they'd shed out and fade, but they have, so hope Derek's do the same. |

Sorry to hear about the eye cap, hope the pillow thing works, I must admit I paniced a bit the other day my male whose been on a fast since last November shed luckily I'd put a damp hide in a few days earlier as his head looked a bit dry, anyway after checking the shed I couldn't find one of his eye caps so after twenty minutes of frantic searching in his viv, I found it whewwwww panic over for now untill the next time lol |
