if a meal is too small for a royal would they bother wasting the energy?? mine eats like one every 2-3 weeks maybe even 4 weeks, he is 925g and should be on small rats but i tryin to use up my weiner rats (average 65g) as brought in bulk, as it prob a small meal will they still go for it? he just dont seem interested!! last 2 weeks i thought cause he was blue then shed so thought he would go for ir tonight but was more interested in coming out and exploring!! little sod ;-s
Snakes are opportunistic, they dont understand your feeding schedule they dont know when the next meal is coming so I wouldn't think they'd turn their noses up at a small meal because they dont measure them they just see food and eat it.
I have two royals around the 800 / 1kg and they are happy eating a 50/70g rat every 6 days. So I can see no reason why yours should refuse a 65g, unless of course he is just fussy. Some royals wont touch a rat with a speck of black

I've been told that they'd eat a smaller meal cause its "easy prey" I dunno how true this is though... My royal wont touch a rat unless its completely white...
