It seems that Jake has kind of got used to us now, When we go into his viv he doesn't ball up up anymore, and is happy being handled. Its good because he doesn't see us as a threat but I must admit I thought it was kind of cool when they curl up into a ball and I kind of miss it. |

Kane only curls up now when he's in blue, ive read on here about everyone that can handle theirs when blue but guess I'm unlucky! It is pretty cool just watching em unravel themselves tho :) |

That is cool when they don't feel shy enough to ball up. All my lot are like hedgehogs - it's quite funny in Shiva's case as he has a piece of cork bark he's very fond of which provides a 'safe conduct' tunnel between warm and cold hides and serves as a middle hide - when I open his doors the slab of bark heaves in a ghostly manner as Shiva instantly balls up beneath it.
However apart from fasting seclusion they're all bold as brass when they come out - I had to bring Shiva out the other day in order to get at the mess he was sitting next to and although I'm trying not to handle at the moment owing to the mite danger I had no alternative. Shiva clamped himself round my neck and was clearly happy to stay there for the next couple of hours. How could I refuse him? |

That's great. I think it's fabulous when a snake, of all creatures, gets used to you. |
