Howdy, after noticing when Jebus catches the light a few of his scaled stick up a tiny bit. Is this something to worry about or am i just being extrenly over "picky, so to speak as its my 1st snake and i only want the best for the little blighter?
Can just about make them out where i circled?
Some of his scaled also look like they are "wrinkled" slightly? And he also has 1 scale that looks like its been rubbed off on his head of like it didnt come off in the last shed or somthing. (Phone cam wont focus in close enough for those pics )
Sorry if these questions are stupid, would just rather be safe than sorry, im sure you understand :D |

Not stupid at all - better to observe your royal closely and notice any changes. I've seen this sort of thing with scales when a shed is due - one of my corns can look quite 'ruffled' in places when about to go into blue - so maybe this is the case with Jebus? |

Well, according to the records the guy gave me when i bought him, he last feed on the 28/2/12, Shed on the 6/3/12, so would they shed so soon even though he hasn't eaten anything? :s Bought on the 10/3/12 and refused 3 rat fuzz's so far :( |

Eating and Shedding are not related. So dont worry about that, it could be that he knows he has damaged scales and is having a she in the hope of correcting the problem |

I have the same on my Royal at the moment, Like slightly crinkly lifted small patches in a few places. With mine I think it is either just stuck shed, he had a shocking shed and needed assisting and these were just a few patches too stuck to come off or minor scale damage from rubbing during the bad shed. They are nothing to worry about if either is the case as it will heal itself over the next shed or two. |
