Lol - he'll get there - in the meantime looks like he likes the white fur Hollywood style bedding ...

ps have you tried heating ratty's nose for 30 secs with a hairdryer and wafting the scent into his open viv window while you're doing it? (Sorry if you've tried this already.) He'll eat when he feels like it - he's a royal.

Ah, he's just being a typical royal then?

As I remember he's quite a big lad - he's probably fasting which is what they all do at this time of year (as I'm sure you know.) Unless he loses more than 10/15% of his bodyweight, no need for alarm. My Shahi's been fasting since Halloween and has only lost 5% of his bodyweight - I think they're like hibernating bears - they live on their fat lol.

That rat looks flipping massive!! Have you weighed it to make sure its around 10-15% of your snakes weight?

I think I'd struggle to eat all of that!

There is more snake under the wood, lol. in comparison to the thickness of the snakes neck (the thinnest bit) its not all that big.

It never hurts to drop a size to entice a stubborn Royal, also feed in the dark as its a glass tank its quite exposed.
