My OBT has recently moulted and he has pushed the moult out of his burrow so thought I'd so you it.

As it came out, check out the eye holes in the carapace.

A bit of leg removal to show the inside of the cephalothorax, this always amazes me how mechanical it looks.

Spider 6 pack, red mouth and monster fangs.

And the fang. I REALLY dont ever want to be on the receiving end of this or its friend.

And tomorrow I get the joy of cleaning out the tub, its filthy. Will be easier just after a moult as they are less likely to put up a fight with soft fangs.

Cool - anatomy is fascinating! Do love OBTs.

Lol Chris - I've told this story before but it's worth retelling -

A pet shop sold a tarantula to a novice owner, and in due course the owner returned and said the spider was dead. (Shades of Monty Python.) He had brought the spider's box and displayed ...a perfect moult.

But no spider. Since he hadn't bothered to shut the box fully after finding the 'corpse', the tarantula was now at large in his house ...
