My big boy was very blue for the last couple days, and this morning he is fresh and bright. I can't find the shed anywhere in his enclosure, even went through the substrate. Has anyone had their Royal eat their shed??

Hi he has probably cleared up, which means he'll shed in the next couple of days. When I got my first royal he cleared up and I wondered what happened an was then informed that this happens before they actually shed... Ive been told that now would be the best time to up the humidity a little

Yup - this what's known as 'clearing', as Austin says. The snake looks back to normal, but the skin still has to come off - probably in the next day or two. And yes, stick the water bowl in the hot end for a bit more humidity.

I thought the same thing with one of my corns when first owning snakes - thought she must have scoffed her shed like a lizard.

Phew! Humidity is up. Thanks Austin and BATS. Couldn't figure out why he was so bright. I hadn't noticed that in anyone else or him before either. Have a great day!

I don't know Kelf, both are pretty easy to come by here. Maybe you should come to visit:D I am not very Photobucket savvy. Need to figure out how to post. Most of my folks shed this past week or two...let me see what I can figure out.

This also happens with Corns i believe.
Shorty used to do this often.
The afew days later she would shed in one, perfectly.
