Hey I know I have had ratchet a good 2 weeks now but what is the average price for royals? I paid £70 for him but I keep thinking that there supposed to be cheaper.
Any information on this is helpful, thanks!

Hey, I got mine for fifty and I thought that was dirt cheap. I had a post on here a couple of weeks ago saying how I saw a hatchling normal royal in a shop for 100! Anyway there were a few of us on the post and i got the impression that 70 is about the average price.

1.0.0 normal royal -Floyd
1.0.0 mojave royal - Smee
1.0.0 common boa - Brady

I don't know his exact age, maybe 5-6 months but not completely sure, I have not weighed him yet as I am only doing that after a shed. I bought him from a shop. Thanks for replies guys

I don't think £70 is a rip-off price for a shop. I paid £60 almost 2 years ago for Shahi as a hatchling.

Also, it's true there may be far cheaper royals about, say from breeders - but are they on our doorsteps? If you have to fork out for transport/courier for a 'bargain' royal, it's going to work out just as expensive in the end.

Prices vary from shops to breeders, when I have my royals hatch any normals I get will be just an extra mouth to feed so I'll be selling them dirt cheap, most breeders will do the same whereas pet shops who sell them for a living try to get a bigger profit.

I paid £90 for Duke but I fell for his little face, I'd have paid £500. lol. I don't like this term what its worth, its an animal that will give you many many years of joy, something like that is priceless. If you don't feel that connection with your snake you soon will and then you won't care what you paid.

Yeah, true enough ...I paid shop price for Ziska when she was 5 mths (£80) and I notice a year later that the same shop is offering het albino gophers for £70. I paid £30 for Shadrach (another pituophis) at 6 mths from a local breeder.

But no way do I begrudge the extra £50 for Ziska - wouldn't be without her for the world!

Shops have to make a profit plus 20% of what you pay automatically goes to the vat man.

Royals owned "lots"

lol, not quite 20% of what you pay goes to the taxman but that's just if you are being picky (which I am being lol) but a bit reassuring they aren't taking that much of a cut.

Ziska is another priceless snake, the stories from her are great we should all pay you for them lol.
